| I. This is the second communication to all of you about the Pacific Southwest Region this year. Thanks to all of you who have provided information about what is happening in your councils. Please continue to email/US mail me. II. Issues of immediate concern are: 1. Legislative Grassroots Training 4/21/08- this Monday. Region VP-Legislative Affairs Dan Dufresne reports: "Bill Waylett, the Navy League’s Senior Director of Regional Activities, will be conducting an in-person legislative training session on Monday, April 21st from noon to 1:30PM. This session will provide participants with the education necessary to successfully articulate the Navy League’s message to Members of Congress. Promoting the Navy League message to our Members of Congress is all important during this next year, and Bill’s program provides the appropriate foundation of knowledge. We’re really fortunate to have Bill out here on the West Coast, so I sincerely hope you all will be able to join us.f you haven't sent yours to National yet, please do so today." The training will take place from noon to 1:30 on Monday, April 21st at the Westin South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa. 686 Anton Boulevard · Costa Mesa, California 92626. Jim Bras graciously lined up a complementary lunch for all attendees. We have the room booked from 11:00AM to 2:00PM, so please feel free to swing by early for lunch and conversation with some fellow Navy Leaguers."
